A shroud of perfection

Unspoken fears like a curse in my brain.

Untold tears, the salt-laced rain on my face.

Beauty and the beast, a fractured fairytale known by my heart.

Maybe a hopeful sunrise could mend this broken art.

Once a beauty, now fallen from grace.

Now hoping one day to win the race.

The fear of being unloved, triggering within my soul.

The fear of failure, like a venom to my heart.

Yet, all hidden under a shroud of perfection.

Once a girl who was a beautiful art

Now writes in her room wishing for another start.

The so-called perfection, might be the biggest imperfection among all.

Yet, with close inspection, the flaws stand up tall.

For, she hides under the shroud of perfection

As her true self unvowed, awaiting correction.
