Have you ever felt like you’re not fulfilling yourself enough? Do you realise that eating healthy  and nutritious food gives you clearer skin, a more stable mood, and more energy throughout  the day? Have you eaten a healthy and nutritious meal today? Did you know that healthy and  nutritious food has a big impact on our lives? Healthy food is food that contains complete and  balanced nutrition, including carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and fibre.  Healthy foods are also free from harmful ingredients such as excessive additives, harmful  preservatives, and other contaminants. According to experts, healthy food is food that fulfils  the principle of balanced nutrition, which contains nutrients in amounts that are in accordance  with the body’s needs. (dr. Budiyanto, M., 2025) Healthy and nutritious food is a type of food  that contains various nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. This diet is an important part  of maintaining overall body health. Healthy and nutritious food consists of several  combinations, such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, tubers, and animal sources. (Ciputra Hospital,  2025) 

This is my personal experience. I once did a challenge to myself, a week only eating healthy  and nutritious food and the results were amazing. My oily and acne-prone skin slowly  recovered when I looked in the mirror, my energy lasted all day aka not getting tired easily,  better sleep quality, ideal weight, and my mood was stable without getting angry. I don’t mean  to forbid you from eating cakes, sweets, burgers, and so on. I still eat them sometimes. However,  the Important point I want to make is that I want you to meet your nutritional needs every day  and then add your favourite foods like ice cream if you want. I want you to fulfil your daily  nutritional needs without torturing yourself. If other writers strictly forbid you from eating junk  food, I’m different. I don’t want you to be tormented by not eating your favourite foods and  harming the junk food vendors because that’s where they make their money. Learn to portion  your own food properly. If necessary, ask a nutritionist so you don’t get misguided. 

In addition to fulfilling your nutritional needs with food, don’t forget to drink water. The human  body contains about 60 to 70 per cent water by weight. This proves that water is not only for 

quenching thirst, but also serves to fulfil body fluids so that every cell, tissue, and organ in the  body can function properly. To get the benefits of drinking water, adults are generally advised  to consume 8 glasses of water or the equivalent of 2 litres every day. It is important to note that  each person’s daily water intake needs vary depending on activity, age, and body weight.  (Rodhiyah Nur Janti, 2025) Although it seems trivial, filling yourself with water has great  benefits! Especially if you drink when you wake up, before eating, after eating, and of course  when thirsty. Guaranteed you won’t feel hungry easily! If I don’t drink enough water, I feel  hungry easily so I try to always drink water in small portions but often because if most of it is  bloated and my stomach is distended. It would be even better if you bring a tumblr bottle from  home. Trust me, it saves me money! You don’t have to buy sugary drinks anymore outside  which if accumulated can be used to buy a new book to broaden your horizons, right? 

I hope that after this, you will be wiser in managing your nutritional needs every day. You can’t  control everything but you can control what you eat. Food and drink are primary or essential  needs that we spend money on every day. I know because 50% of my money is spent on food  and drink. If 50% of your expenses are not managed well, what about the rest? That’s why I  want you to love yourself starting from paying attention to your food and drink. I want you to  be healthy, live long, and enjoy your old age well without having to give up your favourite  foods. Eat better, not less. It’s okay if you eat your favourite food but make sure you fulfil your  nutritional needs first! I’m sure you can share your food with those who are nutritious and not  with normal portions. Don’t let your mood decide your food. You deserve the good things in  life. One of them is by eating and drinking healthy and nutritious things that your body needs.  Best wishes for health and happiness.
